2008
- Nominated Football Writer of the Year, Football Fans Census.

2007
- BoyfromBrazil starts up again following a break; continue contributing articles and match reports.
2006
- Begin writing regular column for The City Gent magazine.
- BoyfromBrazil takes a break.
2005
- Appointed Internal Communications Consultant at Skipton Building Society. Writing responsibilities include producing communications in different styles to suit different audiences, aims include engaging audience with Society’s strategic direction. I also write press releases for local papers.
2004
- Week-long work experience placement at The Yorkshire Post, working in sports department. Duties include writing football articles on region’s teams and interviewing Kevin Blackwell (then-Leeds United manager) and Adam Pearson (then-Hull City chairmen).
2003
- Graduate from University of Sunderland with degree in Journalism.
- While beginning search for employment, start writing for BoyfromBrazil.
- Fortnight-long work experience placement at the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, working in sports department. Duties include writing stories about football (including Newcastle United and Sunderland), rugby and tennis. Also attend press conference with then-Newcastle United manager Sir Bobby Robson.
- Paid freelance work for Newcastle Sunday Sun, write a column on Newcastle vs Aston Villa Premier League match.
2002
- Week-long work experience placement at Gardiner & Richardson, Newcastle-based PR company. Duties included writing press releases and understanding managing clients.
2000
- Complete Sixth Form with distinction in Advanced GNVQ Media Studies and A-Levels in English language and General Studies.
- Attend University of Sunderland, study Journalism.
- Write for University staff magazine Degrees North. This includes writing about music and sport.
1999
- Contribute on two occasions to the Telegraph & Argus Bradford City ‘fans view’ match reports, covering away trips to Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.
- Write article for The City Gent
1998
- Complete school with 10 GCSEs, attend Sixth Form to study Advanced GNVQ Media Studies.
- Week-long work experience placement at The Keighley News, working in sports department. Duties include writing stories about football, rugby and also general news reporting.
